Teaching behavior and reviewing data are integral pieces of a PBIS system. Use your school’s SWIS data to focus lesson plans on areas that are more problematic. Create lesson plans that include role plays and an opportunity to practice behavior in the natural setting.

PBIS Year 2 Day 1 Training!

PBIS Year 2 Day 1 Training is coming up! Training will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell, CT. You may find directions here. Participants in Day 1 of Year 2 training will discuss strategies for classroom management. Cohort A will train on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Cohort B will train on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. If you need to clarify which cohort your school belongs to, please contact Sarah-Anne Nicholas at nicholas@ctserc.org or at (860) 632-1485 ext. 281.

The holidays present a much needed opportunity to boost staff and student buy-in to PBIS. Avoid spikes in interfering behaviors by prompting and acknowledging students more frequently as breaks approach.

Remember… Teach, Practice, Model, Pre-Correct and Reinforce!

PBIS Year 3 Day 2 Training Coming Up!

PBIS Year 3 Day 2 Training is coming up! Training will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell, CT. You may find directions here.

Participants in Day 2 of Year 3 training will discuss Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and identify the relationships between unique characteristics of an individual and contextual variables that trigger/reinforce behavior.

Cohort A will train on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Cohort B will train on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

If you need to clarify which cohort your school belongs to, please contact Sarah-Anne Nicholas at nicholas@ctserc.org or at (860) 632-1485 ext. 281.

UPDATE: Year 2 Team Training Day 1 – CANCELLED

Please note that due to numerous power outages and school closings, we are cancelling PBIS Year 2 Team Training Day 1 for both Cohorts A & B. We will NOT have training on Thursday, November 3rd or Friday, November 4th, 2011.

Day 1 of PBIS Year 2 Team Training will be conducted on the January date that has already been scheduled. An additional training date will be added to ensure that all three days of Year 2 Team Training will occur within the 2011-2012 school year. We will be in contact with an updated training date as soon as possible.
